CNC shaping, contouring, cutting and turning centre with five interpolated axes

ContourFive NC 700
If you produce architectural or funerary art components, we have the machine that will facilitate and streamline your work.
BRETON SpA has designed the ideal machine for producing large pieces made from natural stone, marble, granite and compound stone.
It's Breton's
ContourFive NC 700, that was specially developed to machine workpieces featuring a complex 3D shape.
ContourFive NC 700 is a CNC shaping, contouring, cutting and turning centre with five interpolated axes and a fixed worktable, that offers the users the possibility of performing multiple and complex machining operations which would otherwise require several machines:
- sawing of slabs and small blocks into workpieces utilising the saw blade
- shaping of either large or small blocks utilising the saw blade to get large pieces with complex shape, such as capitals, banisters, tanks, fireplace components, etc.
- shaping and dishing out utilising millers to get shower trays, sinks, vases, bas-reliefs, engravings, etc.
- contouring utilising shaped tools to produce statues, kitchen tops, tombstones, components for funerary art, etc.
- turning of columns with shaped profiles or machining of columns to create a twisted effect all along the surface
ContourFive NC 700 stands out thanks to its performances:
- mobile bridge structure enabling an excellent access to the worktop
- short beam ensuring top rigidity
- "rapid" movements of up to 40 metres/minute
- high-frequency spindle with 20 kW and 14.500 rpm, which can be turned in the space along the 5 axes and controls automatically a saw blade with max. diameter of 500 mm
- max. diameter of the saw blade: 500 mm
- "C" axis rotation: ± 200°
- "A" axis rotation: from 0° to +115°
- "X" axis travel: 3.700 mm
- "Y" axis travel: 2.800 mm
- "Z" axis travel: 700 mm
- possibility of working with saw blades, shaped tools, drills, millers, etc.
- mobile carrousel-type tool-store with 27 cells + 1 (optional) cell for the saw blade
- lathe (optional) for machining both columns and capitals

Breton stands in the market with a wide range of bridge saws, CNC working centres with 5 interpolated axis and numerical control machines to satisfy all the needs of the present-day marble workers.

Combicut DJ/NC - CNC Bridgesaw/Waterjet Cutting Center

The Combicut DJNC is a combination saw/waterjet featuring the power, speed, and precision of a well constructed bridgesaw with the advanced layout nesting, and complex shapes possible with a waterjet.
The machine, now in it’s 5th year of production is being offered in several innovative configurations as a single tank standalone unit, dual tank, or with our innovative automatic worktop exchanger.
The standard machine unit is equipped with a 23HP spindle head with FULL SIZE up to 20” diameter blade capacity which is engineered to take maximum advantage of today’s highest speed diamond blades. The spindle is capable of complete 360 degree rotation, thus also optimizing non cutting time.

Combicut DJ/NC offers the possibility of combining or alternating blade or waterjet operations depending on slab layout requirements, which allows for the optimization of cutting operations, resulting in higher material yields, minimised waste, and minimized material handling.

In the standard version, Combicut DJ/NC is supplied with a fixed work table consisting of a steel tank structure fit with “consumable” steel fins with an easy to replace rubber coating that are designed for supporting and providing traction for the slab during machining operations. The control panel is mounted on a swing arm outside of the working area. A remote keypad is also included to be carried inside the working station when needed. It conforms to EC safety standards, and to CSA and UL standards.

The latest version of our “COMBICAM” programming software is an extremely simple, yet powerful application whereby template CAD files are arranged via the mouse over scaled digital photographs of the subject slabs. As the pieces are positioned within the slab photograph a new feature dynamically renders the project in 3D allowing the designer to match the veins and patterns of the material, while taking into account predefined defects & the material removed during cutting.

Once the layout is confirmed, the software then automatically detects and assigns toolpaths to the blade or waterjet, optimizes the sequence of cuts, and assigns feeds and speeds based upon pre-programmed hardness parameters of the material

Breton’s customizable Automatic Worktop Exchange system for the Combicut is a very popular option designed to have the loading and unloading process taking place away from the tank environment in a more safe and ergonomic area while the machine is cutting the subsequent slab. The system is designed to increase the total available cutting time of the machine, therefore offering the shortest cycle time per slab.
The Combicut can dramatically affect per project cycle times and costing by eliminating the need for an experienced sawyer and minimizing secondary shaping operations, while being versatile enough to provide sophisticated customization.

Breton ROBOCUP System

ROBOCUP SYSTEM - patented - is a revolutionary system that allows automating the positioning of the suction cups on the workbench as well as the piece loading and unloading.
The spindle automatically selects the double-acting suction cups from the store and places them on the workbench at the exact position of the self-blocking valves accord-ing to both the preset working program and the pieces to be processed.
A self-blocking device secures the suction cups to the workbench.
A manipulator takes the pieces to be processed from the store and places them on the suction cups according to the preset working program.
The self-blocking device assures the piece to perfectly stop on the suction cup.
Once the contouring has been carried out, the self-blocking device releases the pieces from the suction cups, the manipulator takes the worked pieces and places them in the suitable store, the suction cups are then released from the workbench, the spindle automatically takes the suction cups and places them in the proper store, and finally a suitable pressure washing system washes the workbench before starting a new cycle.

Breton stands in the market with a wide range of numerical control machines , CNC working centres with 5 interpolated axis and bridge saws to satisfy all the needs of the present-day marble workers.

FK/OPTIMA 800
Bridge saw with belt work table and automatic suction cup device to execute "staggered" cuts on adjacent strips.
After the slab is loaded, a digital camera reproduces the image on the touch screen of the bridge saw's computer. The operator, using the mouse, marks the defects and the perimeter of the slab where he places the pieces to be cut optimizing the surface available.
If equipped with the special optimization software, the bridge saw decides automatically, always optimizing the surface available, which pieces are to be cut. Reading and optimization are carried out while the machine is working. Should it be necessary to execute "staggered" transversal cuts on single adjacent longitudinal strips, the suction cup device automatically lifts, moves and places again the strips, thus allowing the execution of "staggered" transversal cuts.
Once the strip is cut, a belt conveyor connected to the sawing machine table performs the piece unloading.

COMBICUT DJ/NC
Two machines in one: disk + waterjet.
Numerical control bridge saw with three interpolated axis, specially engineered to cut and shape items of marble, granite, “natural quartz surfaces” and stone in general, using a diamond disk and a water cutting head. The cutting units holding the diamond disk and the waterjet can work the same piece in succession so as to optimize the slab surface, or they may work independently from each other.

Breton stands in the market with a wide range of CNC working centres with 5 interpolated axis, numerical control machines and edge polishing machines to satisfy all the needs of the present-day marble workers.
