Breton machines at 48th MARMOMACC 2013 Verona

- NEW CONTOURBRETON NC300 K26, available with the following useful working travels: “X” 3.800mm, “Y” 2.300mm and “Z” 300mm.

- SHAPEMILL NCF 1600, a numerical control shaping, profiling, cutting and turning centre with five interpolated axes. The vertical travel of 1.600mm makes it the ideal machine for architectural and funerary art components and for the execution of deep slots.

- SMART-CUT S/NC550 OPTIMA, a numerical control cutting and shaping centre with five interpolated axes, provided with a special cutting head with integrated vacuum cups for the slab cutting optimization through the piece movement on the fixed work bench.

New stone router Contourbreton NC 300.

Hello,
The time has come to show you the new Contourbreton NC 300, Breton BRAND NEW profiling CNC stone centre, that replaces the well-known Contourbreton NC 260.

Contourbreton NC 300 is totally designed, engineered and manufactured in Italy, using top quality components.

Contourbreton NC 300 K has useful working travels of 3.800 mm in “X”.
The useful travel in “Y” depends on the model:
2.300 mm on the NC 300K26 4.000 mm on the NC 300K40.

The structure is machined on latest generation machining centres by the factories of Breton group.
Heavy-duty and featuring an arc welded structure, the machine meets any production requirements.

Machine driven by rack and pinion systems and Siemens brushless motors, whose top precision is ensured by recirculating roller linear guides. 

The large and easily accessible work bench is made of aluminium slats. 

Is available a continuous worktop made of Metalquartz®, a special patented quartz-based composite material with a polymeric matrix, specially engineered to ensure the same high rigidity and expansion coefficient of steel(optional).

High-performance vacuum pump with liquid ring, featuring high-performance and budget-friendly maintenance costs.

The tool magazine is stationary and accommodates 17+17 tools (NC 300K26) or 31+31 (NC 300K40).

Powerful spindle manufactured by Breton, with closed circuit liquid cooling, three ceramic bearings with large diameter, featuring high-performance (30 Nm with 14.500 rpm), specially designed and built for working natural stone, engineered stone and stoneware.

Contourbreton NC 300 also stands out thanks to its distinctive features
- Spindle vertical travel of 300 mm, with a distance of 520 mm between spindle nose and work bench, to enable dish-out machining on small blocks.
- The spindle is mounted on a very rigid cast iron structure to minimize flexion even under heavy milling loads or when making embossing operations.
- Digitally controlled motors.
- Aluminium work bench provided with grooves for the mechanical fastening of vacuum cups, so that workpieces are tightly locked in place even during heavy working stress (a smooth work bench and double-acting vacuum cups can be supplied on request).
- Vacuum system with frontal, external controls, conveniently located for the operator.
- “Rapid” displacements, up to 50 meters per minute.
- “In line” tool magazine, installed on the two inner sides of the machine.
- HSK-B80 type tool holder to ensure rigidity and precision of the tool/spindle assembly.

User-friendly CNC control unit
Contourbreton NC 300 is equipped with a latest generation Siemens Sinumerik 840D SL computer numerical control (CNC), with digital control on PC architecture and a Personal Computer with Intel processor and Windows XP operating system.
The control board is swivelling and provided with a keyboard, colour graphic touch-screen and USB port. 

A portable button panel, cable linked to the console, duplicates the main controls (axes + handwheel control, emergency stop etc.), thus enabling the operator to check the correct execution of some delicate machining operations while standing close to the piece to be machined.

However, Contourbreton NC 300 can easily machine also thicker workpieces such as bathtubs, sinks, shower trays, fountains and a variety of components for funerary art and interior decoration.

Kitchen worktops in Engineered Stone at Salone del Mobile

Last Friday, April 20,  I visited  Eurocucina 2012 inside Salone del Mobile, halls 9-11 and 13-15 at the Milan Fairgrounds, ranging over 27,000 square metres of exhibition space, with over 150 exhibitors, where design  is bound with technology in so many different styles and fantasies in their eyecatching and original stand displays.

There were so many stands that I was unable to see all  the ones I wanted to !

This year (Eurocucina is biennial)  I noticed a higher presence of worktops in Engineered Stone. 
Each stand exihibited al least one, towards stainless worktops which are decreasing compared to the previous edition and  wooden worktops that are nearly disappeared.  

Most of the worktops are not polished and have ”machined” surfaces, nice to touch and with neutral colours.

I ‘ve got to congratulate with our major customers manufacturing Engineered Stone  for their really wonderful products.
